w*******y 发帖数: 60932 | 1 I just thought this is a great deal for an excellent HTPC keyboard.
I do not know if ebay buy it now auctions are allowed as deals.
I do not have any association with the ebay seller. I just bought one to
try out and bought another one recently because I liked the first one so
much.
I will give a mini review of this keyboard. I have owned a few HTPC
keyboards, the Lenovo with the trackball, the iPazzPort white one, the Rii
mini bluetooth, and this one the iPazzPort Rii.
LENOVO Trackball
I had the Lenovo trackball for awhile but did not like it for two reasons.
It doesn't have backlighting and the trackball would wake my HTPC from sleep
with any movement of the remote. The trackball would move if accidently
touched and then my HTPC would wake up from sleep. It would be a pain to
get it back to sleep because I would need to turn on the TV to see what I
was doing to put the compouter back to sleep. So I ordered the Rii mini BT.
Original Rii Mini Bluetooth
I really liked the original $40 Rii bluetooth keyboard. It has a nice heft
and feel to the buttons. The BT dongle could be hidden in a compartment and
it has a nice white backlight so I could type in the dark. The trackpad
was pretty good and the 4 way direction button made it really easy to scroll
up and down webpages. However, I could never wake the HTPC from sleep
with the included BT dongle. I tried changing many of the settings in power
management and BT settings and usb port to try and get wake from sleep to
work with the BT Rii mini.
iPazzPort white (looks like a blackberry)
I ordered this because I wanted to try a different form factor remote and
larger trackpad area. It is also 2.4ghz as the Lenovo. It had good range,
orange backlighting, and could wake the HTPC from sleep. However it was
hard to scroll up and down webpages. The trackpad didn't have scrolling on
the side and the keyboard layout was difficult and small buttons. It also
had a light weight to it that made it feel cheap. So I saw on eBay this
other version of iPazzPort keyboard that looked like a Rii and ordered it.
iPazzPort Rii Mini Clone
I ordered this because it was about $10 less than a 2.4ghz Rii mini Original
. The poster said it had multitouch and since it was 2.4 ghz I knew that it
could wake my HTPC from sleep.
This keyboard is slightly lighter than my Rii Original. The buttons aren't
as nice as the original but still better feel than the Lenovo and white
iPazzport. The backlighting is also orange which is nice and bright. When
using this is horizontal mode the trackpad feels nice and scrolling is easy
with the 4 way button under the pad. However the mulittouch doesn't work in
this horizontal position.
I then switched to the vertical position with a press of two buttons. I
could use my thumb to scroll the web and full 47in screen. Multitouch and
sidescrolling only works in this direction. Two finger scrolling works
pretty well and on the side of the iPazz clone was a rocker switch from page
up and page down to also help with scrolling. This button is missing on
the Original Rii Mini.
For $10 less than the Original I thought this was a great price for a
excellent HTPC.
I put the HTPC to sleep and turn off the iPazzport Rii clone and when I turn
it on it automatically turns on my HTPC. It is backlit and scrolling and
typing is very easy with this keyboard.
I hope this helps some of you guys out who wanted some other options besides
the Lenovo that is regularly on SD on sale for about $25. Also this guy
shipped fast. I think he is here in the US whereas my Rii original was from
Pandawill took 3 weeks to get to me.
If this is inappropriate due to ebay let me know.
