CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS! The Governor's office is proposing a repeal to many
parts of the Hayden Law that protects animals in California shelters. These
changes will affect more than just cats and dogs. Rabbits and other small
animals will no longer have ANY holding period and rescue groups will no
longer have the right to save them. See Sec.7 on Page 9. We need all rabbit
and small animal rescues, sanctuaries, adopters and other animal lovers
across the state to write their local representatives and the Governor to
stop our shelters from becoming just killing houses for stray and
surrendered pets. Here is a link to get you started.
