打的远是不管用的。关键是方向正确。
练习时出去方向的夹角要小，因为fairway通常是很窄的。
很早我就打180码了，
可是打场的时候还是打不过一个女生。
Par4的道她是三小跳到green，两个putting，
我是一大跳到挺远（如果不上山上树的话），再两小跳上green，

我今年summer开始学golf. 昨天第一次打9-hole.战况如下：total score 77. 球丢了一
个（但又捡到一个，hehe）。历时2.5h. 今天身体无异常反应， 只是左手手指有些酸痛
。
自己分析认为fairway 打得很不好。很多时候couldn't get the ball off the ground.
而且感觉与driving range 不一样很多。
BTW, 我是女生。full swing 最远只有140 yard no matter which club I use.
很想听一听大家有何建议：提高score,和完善swing. |

fairway, we all know that geniuses act in a totally different way

fairway woods. In today, no woods are actually made of wood. Most of them are
made of alloy. If you just began to shit at range, iron will be a better
choice. Try to begin with 7 or 8 iron. |

in recent years for intermediate players to move from irons, especially

pro's choose to tea up on par 3s and there's a reason for that. once the ball
is off the grass (even if it is barely, like by less than a quarter of an
inch), it is much easier for your club to hit the ball before it makes contact
with the turf.
if you watch the low handicappers or pros' swings, you would find that at
impact, their club is still is on the down swing and have not yet reached the
point of being vertical to |

a lot in terms of percentage, no. only a very small percentage of amatuers can
hit as long as an average pro. and you are right, most amatuers who can hit
long are not consistent, not only in their short games, but also in their long
games. their fairway hit percentage (or driving accuracy) is much lower.

fairway wood.
I am still so curious about that phenomina. Say, having watched Tiger's
videos for serveral times, I can hit driver and not that bad, always straight
and around 200-240, even I never seriously practice it. My partners can be the
witnesses. The worst thing is that it only lasts 3 weeks.
Not mention the 450 par4, it always scares us when play at our home
course, 4 180-200 par 3s.

actually, my friends asked why i don't use my woods and drivers. I answered them
i don't know how to use it. they say: go driving range.
my opinion is here. some guys just leave long irons at home after they can use
fairwary woods and driver, and think
fairway woods and driver are more powerful. such as all of my friends@orlando.
if i use my long irons over there, definitely they persuade me giving up once

is interesting too. I actually can not separate most greens from
fairway. :)
Tiger is in a good shape. He hit three shots in the bunkers. He

are more difficult. the fairway is narrow.

Pros record their average carrying distance. Guys here post their one-time
phenominal distance which could be determined by many factors, like wind
blowing from behind, downhill tee shot, hard fairway...

it's always easy for catching up quickly at the beginning of a sport. If
really want to be good, much more effort must be paid.
When I played on saturday mornig, I met a senior. He gave me a lot of credits
about my swing, say, it's like a water wave, up and down, smooth and stable.
The funniest thing is, when he is commenting on me, i keep asking: who are you
talking about? me?

没看上tee box shot，也没看上pros fairway hit.
看到了中国第一哥张连武在green上的一点点表现，一个eagle机会变成了par。
还看到了其他几位选手，想必他们都是在第一group.
还有看到caddie大多都是女的。似乎只看到了一位选手，他的caddy是位男的，似乎是位
职业caddy。
还有，不知道这是第几个round，似乎他们的成绩都不错，从-11到-5。
comment他们的putting green表现，如果按照教科书或以pga top player为参照的话，他
们的green reading, setup, stoke tempo, and the obvious one: follow-through is
really amature.

I am 5'10'' and 150 pounds. I am using Titleist 983E 9.5degree driver with
Titleist 4560 stiff shaft.
I think I can hit pretty good driver shot, consistent, straight with a carry
of 230-240 yards around.

To islest, I can't point out what you do wrong 'coz i didn't see your swing.
currently, my driver shot is pretty consistent, like i remembered 3 weeks ago,
it's not a problem for me to get 80-90% fairway hit. recently, it's down a
litte bit 'coz i am doing some fitness, my body is not in good shape, also I
swing faster. yesterday, i still can hit ball straight most time.

Wie already in last place at Sony Open
HONOLULU (AP) -- Michelle Wie didn't hit a fairway off the tee, didn't hit a
green in regulation. And through the first nine holes Thursday, it was
becoming increasing clear that she didn't have a chance to make the cut in
the Sony Open.
Wie was 8 over par, and easily could have been worse without making four
putts outside 6 feet. The 17-year-old from Honolulu was in last place, four
shots worse than one of the club pros who qualified.

Acutally, I didn't finish 2 holes due to traffic. After I put ball on green,
or I teed off, I left.
My goal for this round was seeing how many green I can hit, try to verify my
approach shot accuracy. then I'll move to fairway hit, and it will be putts
, and up and down. Hopefully, I can get some consistent data. |
