For 4 wood, you can practice both, make sure put the ball on a shorter tee.
As for beginner, put the ball on the tee first so it's easier for you to hit
it. But most of time on course, you are hitting 4 wood without tee (on
fairway) unless you try to use it for tee shot.

, one of the 4 pros, I forgot his name though, actually practice the driver
without the tee sometime. And he can almost get the same distance, just a
little shorter. He said it helps his tee shot. Hehe. I also saw it once on
TV that Tiger used his driver on fairway, and the next day, my friend, Joe,
hit a driver on fairway for the second shot of a long par 5 and got the ball
almost on the green.

发帖数: 467 | 9 I guess the pro you mention is sean o'hair. I watched the clinic on golf
channel.
Well, driver off the deck requires lots of skills. I don't even think about
doing it. I'd be happy to hit my fairway wood solid but 40 yards shorter. hehe.
BTW: I've been watching lots of youtube videos from that instructor, very
instructive, but don't like his backswing, too much hip turn.

i have trouble with my fairway woods laterly. my driver is good laterly, and
my hybrid is my best club. i thought fairway woods would be in between them
, but somehow, to me, fairway woods is a whole new club, and a whole new
swing for me.
i will try this skipping thing tonight to see how it feel.
